I don't think he was better, only just as good and Fred did do acrobatics in some of his dances as well. It was producers and executives who kept Donald's talent from shining.
I guess that's what they mean by legorithms.
Love the direction from the wings; Gosh, Donald was super talented. Don't know anything else about him
It's no coincidence that American men developed this kind of dancing at the same time that America men made us the world's industrial powerhouse. And won a global war for democracy.
In agreement with all who say how underrated he was! I think the thing that strikes me the most is how fearless, yet playful, he was as a dancer! (Also known to be one of the kindest people in the biz)
My second favorite dancer to Astaire, O'Connor was a great comedic actor.
With some of the nonsense on RUclips, Deborah thank you for sharing this TREASURE!
You are so welcome!
Wonderful, but I must have missed that math class that dealt with tap dancing.
O'Conner was quite the talent and quite the athlete. Every bit as good as the "best!"
More like fluid mechanics!
Only one word can describe this: Sublime.
Donald O'Connor was a much better dancer than Kelly or Astaire. His style was brilliant! I've never understood why he never got credit for his remarkable talent!!!
Never gets old, often only looks better, a gem, thanks for posting.
His studio wasted his best years on those talking mule pictures. And they weren't a studio that was big on musicals. If he'd been signed with MGM or Warner Brothers he would have been just as well known as the others.
Underrated genius.
The voice of the man in the striped suit was so familiar. Took me a while to place him, but he played Marlo Thomas' father on "That Girl."
Great talent.
Grateful that this mans' talent is preserved on film.😊
Thanks so much for this video! Donald O’Connor’s swashbuckling is perfectly swish and up there with the greatest swashbucklers. 💕😀
West Side Story on a DVD has extras. Russ singing in his real voice. It was dubbed in movie. His real voice is better and it fits. weird.
The way he runs up all those steps so light on his feet that he practically flies is wonderful to watch. He was just remarkable.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is exactly me when I'm alone at home. I love Donald O'Connor's grace in dance. It looks so effortless. He is truly one of the best out there.
Amazing
This is when one had to have talent to perform. An era we’ll never witness again.
I love the old shows but really! How often would you meet more than one tap dancer?
AMEN to the comment preceding mine!
😊He makes me want to dance right along with him!
Say what you like about the old Hollywood contract system. The fact that the studios offered up such thoroughly entertaining , well written, and acted Saturday matinee fluff such as this is to their credit. I loved this movie.
He was a joy to watch.
Fabulous Puerto Rican,Olga San Juan, actor from New York. Won best new actress for Broadway's Paint Your Wagon in 1951.
I swear, Donald O'conner was the OG Tom Holland. Acrobat, dancer and actor all rolled into one young man! Oh, how I wish people still danced like this in film!!
Donald had it all over Astaire...much much better dancer
Simply the greatest ever.., just my two-cents...
Talent like this just doesn't exist today...
Donald, Fred, and Gene. Truly incomparable, genius, timeless talent❗💥🎆❗💎🎆❗
Didn't know jukeboxes had volume control.
Totally underrated

😊
I got gremlins after me 24/7. Nice to see what they look like.
I'd much rather listen to Donald's voice than those of his trained soprano costars. Can't help but love the O'Connor 💚
He just floats.
Ray Bolger. The Tin Man.
She could’ve been the next Betty Grable!
Μέγα ταλέντο και μοναδική χορευτική χάρις !!!
Θεϊκό ταλέντο !
Back when hollywood had great people, great talent, great movies and great patriotism.
He’s so amazing!❤
I agree, I love Donald O’Connor, he was underrated
